Action Concludes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships

The 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships concluded today with the Big Ten being well represented.  In the men’s team competition, Wisconsin placed fourth overall with 229 points, placing all scored runners in the top 40 percent of individuals.  Minnesota was the next Big Ten team to finish in 15th place with 385 points as the Gophers recorded two top-25 finishers.  On the women’s side, Illinois, Michigan State and Minnesota finished 10th, 11th, and 12th, respectively.  Iowa’s Rachael Marchand brought home the conference’s highest individual award as she crossed the finish line fifth overall.
