In 1995, Wisconsin began another string of Big Ten titles as senior Kathy Butler led the Badgers to their 11th team championship. Butler became Wisconsin's second NCAA individual champion later that season, winning gold in Ames, Iowa, while the Badgers earned their second-straight top-10 finish.

Wisconsin went on to win six consecutive Big Ten titles from 1995-2000 under nine-time Coach of the Year Peter Tegen, matching the six-year streak from 1983-88.  The Badgers' claimed the 1997 crown with the second-lowest winning score in championship history (25) and matched that feat two years later.  In 1999, sophomore Erica Palmer reclaimed the Big Ten individual title and also went on to become the Badgers' youngest national cross country champion as she won the NCAA title.  A two-time Big Ten Athlete of the Year, Palmer successfully defended her Big Ten title in 2000 while leading the Badgers to their sixth-straight crown.

With their second six-year sweep, the Badgers took Big Ten cross country competition to an unprecedented level.  Wisconsin holds four conference cross country records including the most team titles with 15, and has finished first or second in 21 out of 27 Big Ten meets.  The Badgers own the most individual conference titles and first-team All-Big Ten honors (28 individual earning 49 honors) in the league.
